« Bénin aller-retour Regards sur le Dahomey de 1930 » Until June 14, 2026
In 1930, Father Aupiais, a Catholic missionary, and Frédéric Gadmer, an operator for the Archives of the Planet, spent four months documenting Dahomey (present-day Benin). These films and autochrome photographs, along with objects loaned notably by the Quai Branly Museum, take you to the very heart of royal ceremonies and Vodun cults. vodún. In parallel, the creations of contemporary artists, such as Roméo Mivekannin or Ishola Akpo, offer a current and sensitive perspective on these images from the past century, extending the approach of sharing and bringing cultures closer together desired by Albert Kahn.
- Guided tours : Sunday, March 22, 2:30 PM
- family workshops « le fil de nos histoires » parents and children (aged 6 and up) weave their family portrait in response to the works of Ishola Akpo. « Fleurs de guerre » until March 15, 2026
Each year, the Albert-Kahn departmental museum invites an artist to draw inspiration from its collections during a six-month creative residency.
The visual artist 1011 offers a contemporary perspective on images of the Great War preserved in the Archives of the Planet. She inventories the "flowers of war" that grow in combat zones, brought by soldiers from all walks of life. In the Plaques Room, her colored pencil drawings respond to autochromes of devastated landscapes and portraits of combatants, resonating with poetry and tragic memory while raising questions about plant resilience and biodiversity.
Festive closing day on March 15th :

- Meeting with the artist, François Vernier (botanist), and Manon Jeanteur (cultural project manager at ECPAD): 2 p.m.
