SEGUIN ISLAND
From the industrial island to the creative, digital and sustainable.
Since the closure of the Renault factory island in 1992, Île Seguin has been transformed, becoming home to numerous remarkable facilities at the heart of the Seine riverbank ecosystem and a dynamic urban center. La Seine Musicale, inaugurated in 2017, brings all kinds of music to life within an architectural gem designed by Jean de Gastines and Shigeru Ban (2014 Pritzker Prize winner).
SEGUIN ISLAND
From the industrial island to the creative, digital and sustainable.
Since the closure of the Renault "factory island" in 1992, the Île Seguin has undergone a metamorphosis and is home to a number of remarkable facilities at the heart of the ecosystem of the banks of the Seine and of a dynamic urban center. La Seine musicale, inaugurated in 2017, brings all types of music to life in an architectural setting designed by Jean de Gastines and Shigeru Ban (Pritzker Prize 2014).
THE FUTURE OF SEGUIN ISLAND
The operational launch of the upstream tip will see the realization of a cultural and artistic hub. It will include, in particular, a contemporary art foundation, a state-of-the-art multiplex cinema, a "1 room, 1 artwork" hotel, and a program of offices and shops.
Located close to metro line 9 and Tramway T2, the island has strengthened its accessibility with the construction of the new Seibert Bridge towards Meudon in 2021.
In addition, a footbridge will link the downstream point to the new Grand Paris Express station.
The Société du Grand Paris expects the automatic metro line 15 south to be in service in 2025.
THE SEINE MUSICALE
THE FUTURE OF SEGUIN ISLAND
The operational launch of the upstream section will see the realization of a cultural and artistic hub including a contemporary art foundation, a state-of-the-art multiplex cinema, a "one room, one artwork" hotel, and office and retail space. Renowned architects are participating in this project: RCR Arquitectes (designers of the Soulages Museum and winners of the 2017 Pritzker Prize) and Baumschlager & Eberle (designers of the Ardeko office building on the Trapèze). These architectural creations will interact with the landscape designed along the Seine by Michel Desvigne, the landscape architect of Île Seguin.
THE SEINE MUSICALE
Located on Île Seguin in Boulogne-Billancourt, La Seine Musicale: 2 performance and concert halls, the Grande Seine and the Auditorium, and also restaurants and bars.
