Street art à Boulogne-Billancourt

For several years, the City of Boulogne-Billancourt and the Tourist Office have been involved in enhancing public spaces through various artistic initiatives.

These projects enable:

  • to beautify certain neighborhoods
  • to promote local heritage
  • to propose new discovery routes

 

Street art thus becomes a true cultural and tourist tool: the murals and installations help to tell the story and identity of the town.

 

The three trompe-l'œil murals that were painted at the initiative of the Tourist Office are: 

  • « Les personnages aux fenêtrescreated in 2016 based on the paintings of Museum of the 1930s, in order to showcase the nearby museum. 
  • « Davidcreated in 2016 based on the sculptures of Paul Landowski in order to highlight the Paul Landowski Museum a few dozen meters away.
  • « La Fille qui marchecreated in 2017 based on the sculptures of Paul Belmondo in order to highlight the Paul Belmondo Museum 500m away.

THE BOULOGNE WALL

Street art à Boulogne-Billancourt

The Boulogne Wall was created as part of the 2021 Participatory Budget of the City of Boulogne-Billancourt.

 

Acaci’Art and the young artist Huihui Yé, were awarded prizes for the creation of a free expression street art wall in Boulogne Billancourt.

Located in the dead end of rue Paul Adolphe Souriau, on the Edouard Vaillant departmental road, linking the Porte de Saint Cloud to Sèvres, the Boulogne Wall has become a popular spot for street artists and graffiti artists.

 

200m of wall divided into 3 sections:

  • 50m for professional artists invited by Acaci’Art exhibiting at the street entrance
  • 15m for apprentice artists practicing with the street artists of Acaci’Art
  • 135m of brick wall freely accessible, legal, without having to ask permission to paint from Acaci’Art.

INVADER AND STREET ARTISTS

Boulogne-Billancourt also hosts works created more independently by recognized urban artists.

 

Among them, Invader is undoubtedly one of the most famous.
His mosaics inspired by retro video games can be seen in several cities around the world… including Boulogne-Billancourt.

Other urban artists have also left their mark on certain walls or spaces in the city, contributing to enriching this constantly evolving artistic landscape.
